Robbie Long has been part ofthe Next Generation crew since the very beginning and is still producing for the label to this day. Inspired by his love of theearly Hip-Hop / Electro scene, he got into DJing at the tender age of 13 and after a few years locked in his bedroom perfecting his craft, Robbie was in hiselement rippin’ up the wheels of steel. Robbie is considered, by those in the know, a DJ’s DJ, with his immense natural talent on the decks and his phenomenal ability to put records together, creating something unique and rather special each and every time he plays. Primarily a DJ, he used music production as a vessel to develop his own unique style and flava. After a fateful meeting in the mid nineties, Robbie Long & Devastate formed an awesome friendship and studio partnership and quickly established their own style of Hardcore, influenced by their love of Hip-Hop and turntabilism. Their pioneering and highly sought after productions are epitomised by rap samples, scratching, breakbeats, ravey synths and tuff beats and are still selling today. Their 2 Damn Tuff guise was created for their bigger kick drum gear that took influence from the Dutch sound of the time. Robbie Long & Devastate went on to produce 14 original tracks and one remix for Next Generation and Blatant Beats. Unlike many headlining DJ’sin todays scene Robbie Long NEVER lost his Hardcore, helping to reignite thescene with the seminal TNC001 ‘PSA’ (Hardcore Will Never Die) co written withDevastate. His enthusiasm for the musicis second to none and he is as passionate about the scene today as when hefirst started. In 2003 Robbie started hisown label Thin N Crispy Recordings (TNC) and has gone on to cultivate a very talented artist roster. Together they have collectively invented TNC’s ownunique style in the genre of UK Hardcore. With over 30 releases the label has a strong and loyal worldwide fan base. Well deserved recognition for his perseverance and dedication to the scene he loves came when Robbie Long gotasked to mix a CD on the TV advertised Nukleuz / Warner compilation Hardcore Nation. Three albums down the line and the series has sold over 150,000 unitsin the UK alone. Robbie has had his productions appear on many other compilations, including Harcore Heaven, Hardcore Adrenaline and the legendary Bonkers series. He has certainly earned his stripes over the years and is now one of the main players in UK Hardcore sceneboth here in the UK and on the international stage, regularly headlining Raves in countires like America, Australia and Canada.
